Ancona Bantam

Ancona's originate from the City of Ancona in Italy, and although popular in the UK and USA show circles, they are still relatively rare as back garden pets. Ancona Bantams are very attractive birds, black with white spotting and a light beatle green sheen, with a large comb. They are excellent foragers, alert active birds which can fly easily, they are inquisitive and can become quite tame. Good Layers of over 200 white eggs per year, Ancona's do not go broody easily - infact we have never had a broody one !

Hatching eggs available at £2 ea from Spring 2019.

In our Opinion...very attractive and productive birds, require higher boundary fencing as they can fly, but worth the effort.

Pullets available from Summer 2019.
